great knife
Great knife. the assisted open mechanism is just right, the knife doesn’t open with a ‘whack’ that attracts attention. Very strong and solid feeling, with a metal body. Blade is hollow-ground, well made, and pretty sharp right out of the box. Clip on the heel, so when you pull it out of your pocket, it’s turned the right way. And, nothing against liner-locks, they work fine, I just like the back-lock. This knife has everything I wanted and cost 30% less than some comparable models. Comes in two ‘gentlemans sizes’ (Twitch 1 & 2) also.

Very handy EDC knife
I use this knife as my every day carry because I love the shape of the blade. The drop point makes it easy to cut with the tip, the thin blade makes it good for slicing my apple for lunch. It holds an edge wonderfully and the SOG lifetime guarantee has been great.
My only complaint is that there is a locking tab in the back which will keep the blade from accidentally opening (this is a good thing) but that it is subject to pocket lint which can keep it from opening at all. I cleaned mine for a while and then gave up and sent it back to SOG for service. It came back resharpened, and lint free and just as good as new. It took maybe 2 years of daily carrying for it to get this way so your mileage may vary. On the other hand I’ve never had this knife open accidentally. The pressure to open the knife via the kick is just right and no amount of other stuff in the pocket has pushed it enough.
It’s a good deal on a great knife. I don’t have a Kershaw Leek, but I have used the smaller Centno model and it’s tip catches my hand as it opens and this knife does not. As for the weight I don’t notice it in my pocket. The slim profile is very nice and thus no noticeable pocket bulge. The clip has stayed just tight enough for easy retrieval and yet not fall out of the pocket.

A Good Outdoors Knife
I like this knife. I have a number of Kershaws and plan to get more SOGs, I’m a fan of “Assisted Open” and would love to get a real Automatic knife.
The thing that set me off on this knife is the Pocket clip, It’s very discrete and great for every day carry. The thing is it’s heavy so that makes it less than great for every day carry. I’ve used it for hunting and fishing, mostly for fishing since I’ve had more luck and more to cut. The blade takes and holds a great edge. The opening action is not as fast or as easy as Kershaws but it is just as addictive to use. It seems to get faster with use.
Over all this is a very nice assisted open knife. It take it fishing and hunting and to a restaurant afterward if I have no luck with no problem. But that 1 ounce it has over a Kershaw Leek takes it out of the realm of everyday carry. This is my first SOG, I have several Kershaws, and I plan to get more SOGs. I look favorably of both brands.
