Huge display, yet a compact package

This computer display is huge. With this sitting on my desk, it is like pulling up a chair to your HDTV. As far as computing power and response, it is technically similar in generational technology to my old system that I bought two years ago, yet it is determinately faster (not high-end fast, but an improvement worth the money). This being said, there is no comparison to Windows 7 smooth feel and the seamless integration of the touchscreen is like what you see on sci-fi shows. The keyboard and mouse that comes with the Acer are kind of on the cheap side. They seem thin and brittle, as if they would break if you dropped them –But the keyboard slides very neatly under the monitor (a bonus for crowded desktops). A very thoughtful design element I enjoyed is the ambient light button on the side that will give you gentle dim illumination downward, right where you keyboard sits (sitting in the dark, you can type!). All the software extras that come with a touchscreen computer will keep me busy for days; some are cheese, but others are addictive to play with. Wait to you browse the net with a touchscreen (the learning curve for the special touch movements to zoom, back up and scroll is steep). The integrated microphone and HD camera are nice to have, although I don’t typically use them (fun software comes with the webcam). Not having cords running back and forth through the desk and on the desktop are soooo nice. The all-in-one concept was the first form factor designed 30 years ago, and I have no idea why trends got away from it, but I am glad it is back!

Pretty pleased
I have only had this (the Acer AZ5610) for two weeks, but so far this is pretty awesome. I had been window shopping for a desktop for quite a while. I was going to get one that was as juiced as I could get for under $1000. Considering what I normally do on the computer/internet that is overkill. But I wanted to wow myself for once with a PC and was going to do that with raw power. I had been catching wind of multi-touch PC’s and they looked pretty cool.. if not a little frivolous. The all in one form factor was looking cool too. I am sure there will be promo video’s soon.. what’s available now on you tube doesn’t do this pc justice. What looked like bells and whistles, which I was fine with, is already becoming useful. I find I touch the screen already many times a day because some things are just easier that way. I haven’t found the pc to not keep up with anything so far. That includes the games my kids play… and while they have several other programs open.

Now I am not vein or anything close… but I have to say, people are blown away when they see it. And that’s just fun. When was the last time a computer grabbed someones attention just with one touch? The specs speak for themselves.. not the biggest processor, hard drive, or the top end graphics card. But as a family pc this is great! All the internals handle everything and more is just more for most people.

Some of the intangibles make up for raw power. I wouldn’t call this portable, but it’s pretty easily moved from room to room. It is wireless and all-in-one. And the screen is huge! I have moved it to my room to watch videos, and to the kids rooms to play games. It looks good enough to sit about anywhere. You don’t even have to bring the mouse or keyboard with it… if you want to just surf, ya don’t need them. But they too are wireless so either way it’s no big deal to move the entire thing.

The problem with it I have is everyone wants to use this one, and not the laptop or the netbook. Luckily I have awesome dad powers so I get my share of time on it. All in all it’s just fun, useful and handy. Ohhh and Windows 7 runs really nicely.

Love this computer!!!!!!!! Great buy!!!! Sleek look!!!
We just recently purchased this computer when it went on sale for $$$. Setup was very easy and no problems at all. The screen is HUGE and I love it! Windows 7 runs so smoothly and works great. We have used it as a touchscreen but that is not the main reason we got it. It has a very sleek and classy look to it. I love the fact that it is a all in one so there is no bulky tower showing anyhwere. So far I have no regrets on this one. My daughter who is seven even can work this computer by herself and loves it! It was either the Acer, Sony, or HP. After much consideration we didn’t get the Sony because of the price and we compared the Sony to the Acer and couldn’t really tell much of a difference except for the price. As for the HP the reviews on it were a little disappointing and even the salesperson said so too. We chose the Acer and have had no disappointments yet. If you can get your hands on one get it, you won’t be disappointed.
